About
Aidan Shapero is a drummer, writer, and producer from Seattle, Washington who combines a broad variety of musical influences from big band jazz to punk rock to create a unique sound and playing style that captivates listeners.
Aidan started playing the drums at age 8 and began regularly performing live soon after. Before starting college, he already had a wealth of experience playing jazz drums in big bands and small ensembles as well as a variety of orchestral percussion, traveling with his high school to perform in venues like Carnegie Hall. He started private piano instruction at age 15 and is also a self-taught guitarist and bass player.
While studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Aidan has solidified his knowledge of music technology such as Logic, Pro Tools, and Finale. He has also perfected skills in scoring for media (film, advertisement) writing, arranging, and producing a variety of genres.
In 2019, he joined fellow musicians Colin Ratcliff and Eva Levin to form the band Makeout Palace. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the band was reunited, recording their first full album, The Midnight Show, that was released in August 2022. They are now performing regularly in the Boston area and are in the process of recording their second album.
